Takeda lasted just 2.1 innings, his shortest outing of the season, and his ERA ballooned to 7.63.

Samsung entered the game hitting .278 as a team (second in KBO) with their offence trending upward — .305 with 9 home runs over the previous five games. Wednesday was that trend's peak. SSG entered with the league's worst team ERA (5.49), and Takeda's implosion deepened that number further.

Samsung improved to 63–42–2, staying one game behind first-place KT Wiz (64–40–2) in the KBO pennant race. The emphatic victory restored momentum after Tuesday's collapse and sent a message to the league leader. SSG dropped to 44–63–4, firmly in ninth place and 18.5 games off the pace.

The two teams meet again Thursday at 19:00 KST for the series finale, with Samsung sending Won Tae-in to the mound against SSG's Choi Min-joon.
