Hanamaki Higashi closed out the game in the ninth as Tsuburai made a slick defensive play at second base for the second out and a groundout to third ended it.

Fumiya Akama (Hanamaki Higashi, LF/RP) — The engine of the victory. His first-inning RBI double got the scoring started, he stole four bases including a straight steal of home in the seventh, and he entered as a reliever in the seventh to strand two inherited runners with back-to-back strikeouts.

Raku Kikuchi (Hanamaki Higashi, CF) — Batting ninth, Kikuchi collected four hits — including a double in the second-inning rally — and stole a base. He also made a diving catch in centre field in the second inning.

Sōichirō Taji (Okayama Gakugeikan, SP) — Kept his team in the game after a rocky first, but the bullpen couldn't halt the bleeding in the sixth and seventh.
