Oklahoma City Dodgers vs El Paso Chihuahuas

Gavin Stone delivered four scoreless innings for the Comets (41-33, third in PCL), scattering one hit and striking out five. Jhony Brito matched him for five frames, allowing two runs on seven hits with two punchouts.

Oklahoma City struck first in the second. Hyeseong Kim singled, advanced on a flyout, and scored on Ryan Fitzgerald's single to centre. Fitzgerald added a triple in the fifth and scored on Noah Miller's two-out single, stretching the lead to 2-0.

Samad Taylor (ELP) — 2-for-4, double, two runs, two RBI, including the game-winning extra-inning knock. Taylor drove in or scored three of El Paso's five runs.

Ryan Fitzgerald (OKC) — 2-for-3, triple, one run, one RBI, one outfield assist throwing out Gage Workman at second. His triple in the fifth gave the Comets a 2-0 lead.

Gavin Stone (OKC) — 4.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K. Stone dominated early but left after 58 pitches with the game still scoreless and did not factor in the decision.

Ethan Routzahn (ELP) — 2.0 IP, 0 H, 1 R (0 ER), 0 BB, 0 K. The right-hander earned the win (1-3) despite allowing an unearned run in the eighth on Tibbs' groundout.

El Paso collected only six hits but went 4-for-6 with runners in scoring position, while Oklahoma City went 2-for-10 with RISP and left four men on base. The Comets out-hit the Chihuahuas 8-6 but stranded key opportunities — including two innings-ending double plays that erased potential rallies. Both teams made one error, and all five of El Paso's runs came with two outs, highlighting the visitors' timely hitting.

The win improved El Paso's record to 35-40 and pulled the Chihuahuas within six games of Oklahoma City in the PCL standings. The Comets remained third in the division despite the loss. The two teams were scheduled to play a second seven-inning game later Wednesday as part of the doubleheader. Oklahoma City's next scheduled contest was a home series continuation against El Paso, while the Chihuahuas looked to build momentum after snapping a short skid.

A taut, well-pitched game undone by one shaky relief appearance and an opportunistic extra-inning rule. Stone gave the Comets every chance to win, but El Paso's 4-for-6 RISP clip and the wild pitch from Kopp proved decisive. The Chihuahuas are not a team to overlook when they get runners on base late.
