Pipinsried vs Schwabmünchen

FC Pipinsried maintained a perfect start to the Bayernliga Süd season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over promoted TSV Schwabmünchen at the Küchenstadel-Arena on Saturday, a result that lifted Roman Langer's side to the top of the table.

Roithmayr opens the scoring after eight minutes

Pipinsried picked up where they left off from the previous week's 5-0 win at Geretsried, taking the lead inside the opening ten minutes. A flowing move down the flank freed Matthias Roithmayr in the half-space, and the midfielder placed a low finish into the bottom-left corner past Lasse Holthuis to make it 1-0 (8').

The goal was Roithmayr's second of the campaign and came from a build-up involving Tobias Reithmeir's long ball, Nenad Petkovic and Jaroud Kanze on the wing.

Bösl saves a penalty — but Uhde pounces on the rebound

Schwabmünchen grew into the half. Maik Uhde was the visitors' main threat: he tested Enrique Bösl with a 20-yard strike (10') and then rattled the crossbar from the left edge of the box (19').

The equaliser came from the penalty spot. Captain Max Dombrowka fouled Uhde inside the area, and referee Julian Perl pointed to the spot. Maximilian Krist stepped up, but Bösl saved low to his left. The loose ball fell to Achim Speiser, whose follow-up was also kept out by the Pipinsried goalkeeper, but Uhde was first to the second rebound and stabbed home from close range (20').

Pipinsried finished the half on top — Gebert and Kanze both had chances to restore the lead — but the score remained 1-1 at the break.

Kanze strikes early in the second half

Langer's side emerged sharper after the interval. The winning goal arrived in the 53rd minute: Benjamin Krist delivered a precise cross from the right, and Kanze arrived at the far post to force the ball over the line for his second goal of the season.

Pipinsried should have added more. Florian Gebert was denied one-on-one by Holthuis (62'), Kanze shot over when well placed (64'), and Gebert went down under Holthuis's challenge in the box (68') — Perl awarded a yellow card for simulation rather than a penalty. Twice Pipinsried hit the woodwork, and Holthuis made another close-range save to keep Schwabmünchen in the contest.

Two late red cards but Pipinsried hold on

The visitors pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages. Bösl saved Krist's header, and Matteo Di Maggio's corner struck the crossbar. Dombrowka had a chance to seal the game from Kanze's rebound off the bar but fired into the safety netting (88').

Deep into stoppage time, discipline cracked. Dombrowka received a second yellow card for a late challenge (90+1'), leaving Pipinsried with ten men. Three minutes later, Kanze was also dismissed with a second yellow for a foul, reducing the hosts to nine. Under the competition's new rule, both players will serve a one-match suspension.

With eight outfield players, Pipinsried defended deep and saw out the remaining minutes to secure the three points.

"We are overjoyed that we've started with nine points," Langer told FuPa after the match. "Based on the chances and the way we played, the win was deserved."

Defender Benjamin Krist was more critical: "We have to finish the game after an hour. We made it exciting unnecessarily."

Key performers

Enrique Bösl (Pipinsried) — The young goalkeeper was the difference in the first half. His penalty save and follow-up denial kept the score at 1-0, buying his team time to regroup after Schwabmünchen's best spell.

Jaroud Kanze (Pipinsried) — Scored the winner and was involved in the opening goal. His attacking output on the flank was Pipinsried's most consistent threat, though his late dismissal was a blemish on an otherwise excellent afternoon.

Maik Uhde (Schwabmünchen) — The standout for the visitors. He hit the bar, forced two saves before winning and scoring the penalty, and was Schwabmünchen's main creative outlet throughout. When he drifted wide or dropped deep, Pipinsried struggled to track him.

Matthias Roithmayr (Pipinsried) — His early goal set the tone and gave Pipinsried the platform to play on the front foot. A composed finish from a tight angle for his second goal in consecutive matches.

The victory was also revenge: Schwabmünchen had knocked Pipinsried out of the Toto-Pokal in the qualifying round earlier in pre-season.

Pipinsried travel to SV Schalding-Heining on Friday (7 August), a match both Dombrowka and Kanze will miss through suspension. Schwabmünchen host SV Erlbach on the same weekend.

Verdict

Pipinsried's young squad (average age barely 23) has shown impressive composure across three matchdays, but Langer will be concerned by the wastefulness in front of goal and the late discipline lapse. If they convert chances at a higher rate, this team could sustain its early momentum. For Schwabmünchen, staying in games and relying on individuals like Uhde gives them a fighting chance — but defensive organisation remains a work in progress.
