The opening stages belonged entirely to the visitors. Nürtingen raced into a 6-2 lead inside the first ten minutes, with Nele Nusser and Maxime Luber causing early problems for the Kirchhof defence. Kirchhof's Chantal Reimbold, playing in her home town of Baunatal, tried to stem the tide with goals from the back court, but Nürtingen's fast-break transitions proved relentless.

By the 20-minute mark the gap had stretched to 11-5. Lisa Fuchs and Annika Distel added further scores as Nürtingen's movement off the ball consistently opened space. Kirchhof goalkeeper Pauline Grimm made several saves but was often left exposed by defensive lapses.

The half-time scoreboard read 21-12 — Nürtingen had scored 21 goals in 30 minutes, an average of one every 86 seconds.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Nusser added her fourth and fifth goals shortly after the restart, and Kirchhof's discipline began to fray. Julia Hertha and Chantal Reimbold both picked up two-minute suspensions (48th and 58th minutes respectively), while Nürtingen's Nora Erhardt also saw a time penalty in the 56th minute.

Kirchhof's best spell came between the 45th and 53rd minutes, when Reimbold struck three times in quick succession to reduce the deficit to 19-31. But Nürtingen responded immediately through Nina Fischer and Carolin Jaron, and a penalty miss from Kirchhof's Lea-Sophie Walkowiak in the 55th minute ended any faint hopes of a comeback.

Vivien Natalello scored the final goal of the evening with 41 seconds left to make it 37-23.

The match was effectively decided inside the opening 15 minutes. Nürtingen's 6-2 start forced Kirchhof into an early timeout, but the visitors' rhythm — particularly their ability to convert defensive stops into fast-break chances — was already established. By the time Kirchhof adjusted their defensive shape, the gap was already double digits and never shrunk below nine goals.

Nele Nusser (Nürtingen W) was the standout player on the court, scoring repeatedly from the back court and racking up assists. Her movement between the circles created constant headaches for Kirchhof's defence.

Chantal Reimbold (Kirchhof W) kept her side competitive through the middle period, scoring multiple goals and playing with visible emotion in her home-town arena of Baunatal. Her three-goal burst after the break was Kirchhof's best attacking spell.

Maxime Luber (Nürtingen W) complemented Nusser superbly, contributing multiple goals from the left-back position and linking effectively with the Nürtingen pivot.

The Nürtingen goalkeeping tandem of Kerstin Sander and Sophie Leenen made several key saves, particularly during Kirchhof's second-half push, and their distribution sparked numerous fast-break opportunities.

Nürtingen's 37 goals from 60 minutes — 21 in the first half alone — underscore their attacking efficiency. Kirchhof managed just 23 goals against a Nürtingen defence that tightened notably after the interval. The 14-goal margin was the widest in recent meetings between these sides; their previous 10 encounters averaged 55.4 total goals and were typically far closer contests. The head-to-head record now stands at seven wins for Nürtingen, three for Kirchhof, and one draw from 11 meetings.

Kirchhof were missing key players Hannah Berk (knee, post-surgery rehabilitation) and Helen Sonntag (groin inflammation), while Emilia Damm was sidelined with a torn lateral ligament sustained at the Heinrich-Horn-Gedächtnisturnier preseason tournament.

Nürtingen start the 2026/27 season with a maximum two points and a commanding goal-difference statement. As last season's runners-up — the club website lists them as the newly promoted "Vizemeister" — they have signalled their promotion ambitions early.

This was a statement performance from Nürtingen. They were faster, sharper and more clinical in every phase. Kirchhof, playing without key personnel and in a temporary home venue while their regular Melsunger Stadthalle undergoes renovation, were outclassed from the first whistle. The margin of victory suggests these two sides are operating on different levels of the division this season.
