The emphatic victory kept the Academia firmly in second place on the league table, 15 points behind leaders Newman, while Los Matreros remained mired in the lower half of the standings, still searching for consistency away from home.

CASI started on the front foot at their San Isidro fortress and never looked back. The home side built a commanding first-half lead through a combination of forward power and backline creativity, exploiting gaps in the Los Matreros defensive line.

The Academia's try-scoring was spread across multiple players, a hallmark of their season. Los Matreros fought back with two tries of their own — one either side of half-time — but each time CASI responded immediately, maintaining a buffer that never dipped below three converted tries.

By the final whistle, CASI had racked up 50 points, their second consecutive home score above 47 (following the 47-13 win over Atlético del Rosario in Round 18). Los Matreros managed 17 points but struggled to contain the home side's offloading game and phase-play attack.

The decisive phase came midway through the first half. After Los Matreros had briefly threatened through an early attacking foray, CASI struck with two tries in quick succession — the first from a lineout drive and the second from broken-field play after a turnover in midfield. The double-blow stretched the lead beyond two scores, and Los Matreros never recovered the momentum.

CASI's back three were particularly dangerous on the counter-attack, punishing any loose kicks from Los Matreros. The half-back pairing controlled territory well, pinning the visitors deep in their own half for extended periods.

Los Matreros' forwards competed admirably at the set-piece, winning several scrum penalties, but their defensive organisation was repeatedly exposed out wide as CASI's wide passes found space on the edges.
