San Juan Knights vs Imus Braderhood

San Juan seized control from the opening tip, outscoring Imus 30-14 in the first quarter behind sharp perimeter shooting and relentless transition offence. The lead ballooned to 53-29 by halftime as the Knights held Imus to just 15 points in the second period.

The third quarter was the decisive knockout blow. San Juan poured in 40 points — their highest-scoring quarter of the night — stretching the margin to 93-51 entering the final frame. Imus (3-17) never threatened, and both sides emptied their benches in the fourth, which Imus edged 27-26.

The game was effectively decided by the 8-minute mark of the second quarter. San Juan’s defensive pressure forced five Imus turnovers in a four-minute stretch, turning a 12-point lead into a 24-point halftime cushion. Imus shot just 32% from the field in the first half and never recovered.

Kwekuteye was unstoppable from deep, knocking down 7 of 14 three-point attempts en route to a game-high 24 points, adding 2 rebounds and 3 assists. His hot hand helped San Juan build the early separation that Imus could not overcome.

Patrick Sleat contributed 13 points with efficient finishing around the rim, while Harold Alarcon added 12 points in a balanced Knights attack. Terrence Fortea orchestrated the offence with his playmaking, and Ian Pardo made his presence felt on both ends with steals and timely corner threes. James Quitain, playing on his birthday, knocked down multiple triples in the second half.

For Imus, Patrick Beltran led the scoring with 15 points, while Aldrech Ramos added 10. But the Braderhood struggled to contain San Juan’s pace and perimeter shooting throughout.

San Juan’s 120 points marked their second-highest total of the 2026 MPBL season. The 43-point margin of victory was the Knights’ largest of the campaign, reflecting a clinical offensive performance — especially from three-point range, where Kwekuteye did most of his damage — and a defence that held Imus to under 80 points for the seventh time this season.

The Knights shot efficiently from beyond the arc, with multiple players connecting from deep in a balanced scoring effort that saw four players reach double figures by the third quarter.

San Juan improved to 17-2, cementing their hold on the No. 2 spot in the North Division. Imus fell to 3-17, remaining anchored at the bottom of the standings. The Knights have now won three straight and continue to build momentum ahead of the MPBL playoffs.

San Juan’s next fixture sees them face a North Division rival as they push for playoff positioning, while Imus will look to play spoiler in their remaining elimination-round games.

A complete performance from San Juan, who imposed their will from the opening quarter and never let up. Kwekuteye’s lethal three-point shooting was the headline, but the collective defensive intensity and ball movement deserve equal credit. Imus simply had no answer for a Knights side firing on all cylinders.
