The Remparts opened the scoring early. C. Meyer found the net at 0:00 of the first period with an assist from S. Sramaty. Just six minutes later, S. Sramaty turned goalscorer, converting with helpers from M. Dagenais and C. Meyer to make it 2-0 Remparts at the first intermission.

The second period was all Quebec. S. Brunet pulled one back for Baie-Comeau shorthanded at 1:00, but the Remparts responded emphatically. C. Meyer struck again at 3:00, followed by J. Scantlebury (3:00, assists N. Ovcharov, B. Michaud) and B. Cash (5:00, assists J. Napon, N. Birch) to make it 5-1. M. Labre extended the lead at 13:00 (assist C. Meyer), and while R. Benoit replied for the Drakkar on the power play at 15:00, S. Huot had the final word of the period at 17:00 (assists M. Vesque, J. Napon) to send Quebec to the locker room up 7-2.

Baie-Comeau showed fight in the third period. B. Lazare scored at 1:00 (assists G. Collin, B. Arnold), and D. Wotton added a power-play goal at 3:00 (assists M. St-Gelais, B. Daniele) to cut the deficit to 7-4. However, the Remparts defence held firm for the remainder of the game to seal the victory.
